I was upcountry on Maui attending a blessing ceremony for a series of sculptures created by Tim Garcia when inspiration struck for this little painting. There was a beautiful Hula dance offering and this was one of the treasured moments of that day. This painting is about honoring our elders and the wisdom they carry. We should listen more often to those that have walked this earth longer. I am honored that this painting was chosen for the Hui No’eau 2013 Annual Juried Exhibition.
